While sitting on the toilet, many of us have feared the sudden landing of a spider or some kind of dark insect on our back, didn’t we? But imagine a 5ft long python hiding in your toilet…
Polizei Steiermark, an elderly Austrian man’s early morning round to toilet turned into a nightmare just like that- he was bitten by a python.

His neighbor’s pet, a 5ft long Albino python, escaped and slithered into his commode. As he sat on the commode, he felt a “pinch” on his genitals.
When the poor elderly resident stood up to inspect the commode, he was shocked to see the huge python crawling there.
The pet python apparently found the old man’s toilet as a nice spot to rest.
The police and a local reptile were called in to rescue the old man and the snake.
Steiermark was taken to the hospital for a quick checkup. His injuries were minor as pythons are not venomous. But he got a big story to tell for the rest of his life.
The snake was returned, after a quick wash, to its 24-years-old owner who lives next door.
The police later found that he keeps a total of 11 non-venomous snakes and a gecko in his apartment!
He keeps the animals in specially designed cages and drawers. He was completely unaware of the missing python until the police returned the albino.
He told the police that he had no idea how the snake managed to slither into his neighbor’s commode.
But the albino’s great escape has indeed got him in trouble as the police referred him to prosecutors for negligence, and alerted the animal services about the presence of a dangerous snake at his apartment.
And next time you sit on your throne in the toilet, don’t forget to have a check- who knows, you might be the next one…
